Challr is a social challenge app. Someone challenges you, you do the thing and send proof, and they give you the reward they promised. A dare link lets people who have no Challr account send you a dare anonymously from your Instagram story.
By using Challr you agree to these terms and to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, which applies to every app distributed on the App Store. Where the two differ, these terms govern how Challr itself is run.
1. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on Challr. Do not send, post, submit as proof, or dare anyone to do anything that is:
- hateful, or that attacks or demeans a person or a group on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, age, sexual orientation or gender identity;
- sexually explicit, or sexual in any way involving a minor;
- harassing, threatening, bullying, or intended to intimidate a specific person;
- an encouragement of self-harm, suicide, an eating disorder, or drug abuse;
- physically dangerous, illegal, or likely to injure the person doing it;
- an impersonation of somebody else, or a disclosure of another person's private information.
This applies to every part of the app, and it applies with particular force to anonymous dares — being unnamed is not a licence.
2. What we do about it
- We filter. Anonymous dares are screened before they reach anyone. Objectionable wording is refused at the point of sending and never lands in anybody's app.
- You can report anything, in one tap. Every dare carries a Report & block control. Reporting removes the dare from your app immediately.
- We block. Whoever sent a reported dare is blocked from Challr — from your links and from everyone else's — and everything of theirs still waiting is withdrawn at the same moment.
- We review. Reports are placed in a moderation queue and reviewed within 24 hours. A sender who was reported unfairly is reinstated; one who was not stays gone.
We may remove content, end a dare link, or terminate an account at any time, without notice, for a breach of these terms.
3. Rewards are between you and the other person
A reward is a sentence somebody wrote — "I'll buy you dinner". Challr does not hold it, guarantee it, or enforce it. There is no money, no escrow and no points system in the app. Whether a reward is delivered is between the two people involved.
4. Do the dare safely
You decide what you accept. Nothing in the app obliges you to do anything, and you are responsible for your own safety and for obeying the law where you are. Do not accept a dare you are not comfortable with — passing it costs nothing and tells the sender nothing.
5. Your account and your content
You keep ownership of what you write and the proof you submit. You give Challr the permission it needs to store and display that content to the people it is meant for, and nothing more. You may delete your account from inside the app at any time; doing so removes your content.
6. Subscriptions
Some features require a subscription, billed through your Apple ID. It renews until you cancel it in your App Store settings. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us.
